A GROUP to support people with business interests in Stanley has been set up.
Stanley Traders Forum will organise social, cultural and promotional events that benefit the twon centre and the public.
It is supported by funds from the Stanley Area Action Partnership's budget and has been working with Derwentside Enterprise Agency.
Coun Carl Marshall, the partnership's vice-chairman, said the forum would enable the local business community collectively to have a stronger voice and support the regeneration and proposals for the town.
The forum has been meeting informally for the past year but launched a formal constitution last week when Christine Bell, of Christine's Café, was elected chairman. Regular meetings will be arranged.
